While the immediate effect might seem small, the long-term implications are huge. We're now in uncharted territory with mining economics. Will less efficient miners shut down? Will transaction fees become a more critical part of miner revenue?
More importantly, what does history tell us? The 2012, 2016, and 2020 halvings were all followed by significant price increases months later, but never immediately.
